EcoActivism
Sometimes
It's The Little Things
EcoActivism is an individual, social or political undertaking aimed at promoting positive environmental protection and resource sustainability through grassroots organizing, advocacy, or direct action that addresses pressing environmental issues such as chemical and plastic pollution, real biodiversity loss, and even climate change. EcoActivism is public advocacy that relies on challenging corporate practices and government policies that harm the environment.
EcoActivism is gaining traction in the plastic waste and pollution crisis. The plastic debris and microfiber/microplastics accumulation affects every strata of our oceans, from the deepest trenches to the great garbage patches floating in our ocean’s gyres. It is at a tipping point and must be dealt with before every living creature on our planet is totally overwhelmed.
Let us not mince words. Instead, let us reinvigorate the environmental awareness and action of the last century. The 1970 Earth Day heralded a significant moment of citizen and government involvement in EcoActivism. It brought together millions of people to advocate for environmental protection across the United States and the world. Let us build on that foundation and make a brighter future for all mankind and every living creature.
It is for our political leaders to enact legislation and regulations that address this enigma. As people, we each must tackle the Hydra of the persistent multifaceted plastic pollution situation that can no longer be ignored. Please join us and other organizations that work for sustainability of our natural resources to deal with these complex issues facing us. Petrochemical corporation greenwashing is not going to resolve these concerns or help the situation in any way.

Every month the OurBlueOrb.Org Monthly Environmental Briefing Report delivers the most significant breaking environmental news on the planet — curated, documented, and organized for environmental advocates, educators, researchers, affiliates, and environmentally conscious individuals worldwide.
This is not another environmental newsletter. This is a comprehensive monthly research resource built on peer-reviewed science, major news organizations, and the work of established environmental organizations. Five categories. Growing toward one hundred stories per edition. Published every last Friday of the month. Free. Always.
WHAT YOU WILL FIND EVERY MONTH:
ENVIRONMENTAL WINS: They Said It Couldn’t Be Done — Awareness and Advocacy Are Proving Them Wrong. We lead with proof that the work is working. Conservation victories. Species recovering. Communities winning against corporate polluters. Advocates changing laws that everyone said could not be changed.
URGENT & PRESSING: Time Is Running Out — What Every Environmental Advocate Must Know and Why It Cannot Wait. The threats building right now. The policies being rolled back today. The regulations being weakened this week. The stories that require your voice and your action.
PLASTICS — THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM: The Good. The Bad. The Ugly. The Forever Crises That Touch Every Living Thing. The most comprehensive monthly plastics news resource available — covering breakthrough technologies, legislative wins, corporate resistance, regulatory failures, and the science that shows how deep and permanent this crisis already is. We solicit content from our allies and affiliates. If your organization has plastics news worth sharing, we want to hear from you.
YOUTH & FUTURE GENERATIONS: Inheriting the Crisis — Leading the Renaissance. The people who will live longest with the consequences of today’s environmental decisions deserve their own section. Student activists. Teen innovators. Young scientists. Children’s organizations. The next generation is not waiting to be handed a better world. They are building one. This section is for them and about them.
BEYOND URGENT & CATASTROPHIC: Beyond Crucial — Beyond Acceptable — Beyond Excuses. The disasters. The extinctions. The systems being dismantled. The regulatory guardrails being removed. These stories must be told. They must be documented. They must be remembered. Because these are not inevitable outcomes. They are the consequences of choices — and choices can be changed.
The OurBlueOrb.Org Monthly Environmental Briefing Report is published simultaneously on the SR+ IngeniousVortex EcoBlog and Substack on the last Friday of every month. Subscribe. Share. Forward it to a young person in your life. Send it to your elected officials. Use it as the research resource it is designed to be.
Because the Renaissance of the Environmental Movement does not happen by itself. It happens because people like you decide that it will.
Wake up. Speak up. Be heard.
"Single-Use Plastics are Poisoning Our Ocean, Planet, and Us"
"Plastics are all around us and a part of our everyday lives. They're also increasingly inside us – microplastics have been found in our lungs, blood and throughout the human body. An estimated 11 million tons of plastic enter ocean waters every year, which is the equivalent of a trash truck dumping a full load of plastics into our ocean every minute of every day of the year. At this rate, the amount of plastic pollution entering our ocean is currently doubling every six years. If these trends continue, the total weight of plastic pollution in our ocean could exceed the total weight of all fish in the ocean by 2050."
There comes a time when people must be heard. But, to do that it demands action must accompany the words. Supporting environmental charities, foundations, businesses and educational institutions will influence legislators to see the worth of the environmental cause.
Environmental activism requires zealous collaboration of social, scientific, political, and concerned individuals to address these pressing environmental concerns.
EcoAdvocacy includes joining and supporting others who share the same goal.
